Heritage Car Show Coming To Framingham In July
The July event seeks to bring back memories for residents while raising funds for Alzheimer's treatment
FRAMINGHAM, MA - A MetroWest elder care facility is gearing up to host a classic car show in Framingham in July to raise funds to fight Alzheimer's disease.
The inspiration for the event was two-fold: to bring back fond memories to residents while driving a fundraising effort for Alzheimer's research.
"The impetus to create the Heritage Car Show was to have an event that our residents would enjoy," said event organizer Patrick Capozzi, director of marketing at Mary Ann Morse Heathcare, which provides long-term and assisted living services for elders throughout MetroWest. "It's also a great event because they enjoy seeing the classic cars with their families."

The event will take place July 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mary Anne Morse at Heritage, located at 747 Water St. in Framingham. Music will be provided by deejay Cruisin Bruce, whom Capozzi said is a mainstay at area auto shows. To register a car or buy a ticket, go to this link.
Funds raised at the classic car show will benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer's, an annual event held in October. It takes place in 600 communities nationwide to support those living with the disease, which leads to memory loss and dementia, as well as the research toward a cure.

"We are hoping to attract a lot of families," Capozzi said of the fledgling event. "There will be music, games and a raffle."
Classic car connoisseurs are expected to attend, although Capozzi said anyone can show off their wheels at the event.
"Car show enthusiasts are a tight-knit community," he explained, noting the popularity of a June Corvette show at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline the previous weekend. "They take so much pride in their vehicles as well, polishing them up and wanting people to enjoy them."
Mary Ann Morse Home Care, which has locations in Framingham and Natick and serves MetroWest, has been preparing for this event for months, seeking out owners of classic cars in the area.
The corporation provides skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and other customized services. It also assists people with grocery shopping, meal preparation, and personal care. For more information, visit this link.
"There should be some classic cars as well as some more modern ones," Capozzi said. "It should be a nice mix."
