Lisa Marie Presley Performs in Natick on Nov. 22

Here's what you need to know today in Natick.

Though the child of a superstar, Lisa Marie Presley has carved a career on her own thanks to her natural songwriting talent and smoldering alto. With a strong base in Southern folk and roots music, Presley’s sound is gentle and tender while unflinchingly honest and frank.

Over the years, Presley has collaborated with artists like Alison Krauss, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Elton John, and more. Presley’s newest music video, “Over Me,” was released in July to much fanfare.

Check out show at The Center for Arts in Natick on Summer Street at 8 p.m. on Nov. 22. Tickets are $35 ($30 members) and can be bought at http://www.natickarts.org/tcan_ticketsales.php, or by calling 508-647-0097.

This year, Bennett-Hemenway Elementary School is expanding its annual Holiday Fair, combining two popular events into one shopping extravaganza.

The event will include a local Artisan Market and Scholastic Book Fair.  In addition, there will be a raffle of donated items from participating artisans, frozen treats for sale, a bake sale to benefit the 4th grade class, and a free craft for the kids to do while their parents shop.

The Holiday Fair takes place Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, from 5-7:30 PM at the Ben Hem Elementary School, 22 East Evergreen Road.

The Holiday Fair is sponsored by the Ben Hem Parent Teachers Organization to raise money for new library books and educational enrichment programs.  The PTO sponsors and funds educational, cultural, and recreational activities for the students and families of the school.  It's efforts directly impact the educational experience of the students of Ben Hem Elementary School.
