Lowell Wins Natick JV Wrestling Tourney; Natick 2nd; Framingham 3rd: Highlights
Natick's 8th to 9th graders placed 1st, Weymouth 2nd, Winchester 3rd, Walpole 6th, and Newton North 8th at the 28th annual wrestling event.
NATICK, MA — Junior varsity wrestlers from Lowell, Massachusetts, Natick, Concord, New Hampshire, and other communities had a good day of bouts on Saturday at the 28th annual Natick JV Tournament.
Nearly 20 schools participated in hundreds of bouts at the event. Organizers used the “Madison Weight System,” which sets up brackets with a spread of weight settings instead of one specific weight class. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors were in one class of wrestlers, while eighth-graders and freshmen were in another. Some girls also wrestled in the two sets of classes, while others chose to wrestle against boys.
For the 10th to 12th grade boys, Lowell High School racked up 208.5 points to win the division. Host Natick came in second, while Concord placed third, one point behind Natick.
