MathWorks To Nearly Double In Size, Employ Thousands More

NATICK, MA—MathWorks, located in Natick, is looking to expand - nearly doubling in size - and is opening a new Lakeside campus in the spot of the old Boston Scientific headquarters on Route 9, according to reports.

MathWorks, a developer of mathematical computing software made for engineers and scientists, was founded in 1984 and employs more than 4,000 people in 16 countries, according to its site.

Roughly 320 employees already moved to Natick into an older structure, and when they move to the new building another 700 will follow, reports The Boston Globe. The new structure is 513,000 square feet. The company could now accommodate up to 5,000 employees in town, nearly doubling the 2,900 already employed in Natick.
