Meet Natick's Newest Police Officer
After asking the public for its input, the Natick PD named its new police dog Axel.

Last week the Natick Police Department introduced its newest police officer by asking the residents of Natick for some help in naming him.
On Sept. 29, a name was chosen.
"After careful consideration the name is, Axel," the Natick Police Department announced on its Facebook page.Â
According to the Natick PD, Axel is a Scandinavian and Germanic name of Hebrew origin meaning "father of peace."
Axel and his partner, Officer Mike Mabardy, begin 14 weeks of patrol training on Sept. 30, followed two months of narcotics training.
"Best of luck on your first day of school tomorrow and thank you to those who helped choose his name," the Natick PD said on its Facebook page.
