Mitski's Boston Takeover, Film Festivals: MA Weekend Events

MASSACHUSETTS — It isn't so much a question of what there is to do in the Boston area and beyond, but rather, what should locals do?

Welcome to Patch's latest weekly roundup of highlight-worthy events across the city and surrounding areas. We've compiled them into one, easy-to-follow list, for your weekend planning.

It's a big weekend for movie buffs in the MetroWest, as The Center for Arts Natick will screen a series of Oscar-nominated films. Films from three categories are being shown in Natick, including live action, animated and documentary. (For a list of films, click the link for each category.)

But it isn't just the MetroWest that gets to enjoy a weekend spent watching movies.

The Boston Science Fiction Film Festival returns for the 49th year this week, and the Museum of Fine Arts will host a festival highlighting films from Iran.

Plus, the beloved performer Mitski is playing MGM Music Hall for four straight days, including Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
