Natick High VP Belts Out National Anthem at Fenway Park

Here are 5 things to know in Natick.

1. Natick High Vice Principal Zach Galvin, a cancer survivor who has worked tirelessly to raise over $400,000 for the Jimmy Fund, sang the National Anthem before the start of the Red Sox/Orioles game on Aug. 28.

2. Karen Spilka has earned the support from her 31st labor organization with the endorsement of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 4. Working in light commercial and residential projects as well as heavy commercial projects, Local 4 has chosen to endorse Karen as the clear choice for working families in Massachusetts' Fifth District congressional special.

“Thank you to the members of Local 4 for their endorsement,” said Spilka. “Too many in Washington have lost sight of what is really going on in the lives of middle class families and I am running for Congress to push back. I’ll stand up for important programs like Social Security and Medicare. I’ll work to lower the burden of student loans so that our students have access to the higher education -- be it college or technical training -- they need to compete in this economy. I’ll fight to end the absurd tax loopholes for companies that are shipping American jobs overseas. And I am honored to have so many in the labor movement, including Local 4, supporting me.”

Karen has a lifetime AFL-CIO score of over 92%, the highest of any candidate in this race.
