Natick HS Girls Soccer Team Wins First Ever State Championship

The sixth-seed Redhawks defeated No. 1 ranked Hingham in the Division 1 state championship on Saturday.

NATICK, MA — The Natick High School girls soccer team had a historic win over the weekend, bringing home the Division 1 state championship title to town for the first time.

The Redhawks defeated top-ranked Hingham in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament, with forward Emma Grant scoring the game-winning goal. The end score was 3-2, according to the Boston Globe.

The Redhawks last made it to the MIAA D1 soccer championship in 2018, but lost in a shootout with Wachusett Regional High School. The team returned this year as the No. 6 seed.
