Natick Johnson School Plan Discussion Hits Select Board This Week
The Wednesday Select Board meeting will cover a project update on the future of the former Johnson Elementary property.

NATICK, MA — Plans for the former Johnson Elementary School property will be shared at this week's Natick Select Board meeting, officials said.
The meeting, scheduled for Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., will see an update on the school property presented. Johnson ceased operations at the end of the 2023-2024 school year after a 2021 decision by the School Committee to close the building.
According to the project plan, the purpose of the discussion on Wednesday is to find alignment between various parties on the process and timeline alignment for the project. Officials will also seek out community engagement.

As for the timeline currently proposed, officials expect to host 10 public meetings and send out six surveys on the subject. At least one forum this year will be town-wide and for the Johnson neighborhood, respectively.
A hypothetical target date for a Select Board decision, according to the document, could come in June 2027.
