Linsky Beats Patel In 5th Middlesex Primary: MA Primary Elections 2024
Rep. David Linsky retained the Democratic nominee over a challenger in the primary, the Associated Press is reporting.

NATICK, MA — Massachusetts Rep. David Linsky has defeated a primary challenger to retain the Democratic nomination.
The Associated Press has called the race in the 5th Middlesex District for Linsky with 75 percent of the vote in as of 10:06 p.m.
Linsky garnered 72 percent of the vote by that time while challenger Jaymin Patel gathered just 28 percent of the vote.

The ballot is admittedly a thin one in many communities with the majority of state representative, state senator and federal legislator elections uncontested at the primary level.
Some of the candidates who are unopposed within their own party will meet general election opposition, although a large percentage will not.

One race with some intrigue in the primary is the Republican race to challenge U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren in November. Former U.S. Attorney John Deaton won that race, and will face off against Warren.

Natick Special Election
Natick also hosted a special election for one open seat on the Planning Board. Alan Cloutier ran unopposed, gathering 94 percent of the vote.
Write-in candidates accounted for over 1 percent while over 3 percent of voters left the space blank.
