Natick Shares New Basic Service Electricity Supply Rate

Officials shared the current difference in price between Eversource's basic service and Natick's electricity aggregation program.

News release from Town of Natick.

NATICK, MA — Natick residents have multiple choices for the supply portion of their electricity bill:

Starting February 1 through July 31, 2025, the Eversource Basic Service rate will be 13.24 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). This rate will be 2.32 cents lower than the Natick Electricity Aggregation Program default price of 15.56 cents per kWh, which is fixed through December 2025.

It is normal for Basic Service to occasionally fall below the Electricity Aggregation Program price, as Eversource pricing changes every six months. The Electricity Aggregation Program seeks to deliver savings by having the lowest average price over a contract term and purposefully offers long-term, fixed rates to protect customers from market volatility. By following this approach, Natick’s Electricity Aggregation Program has provided more than $7 million in savings to participants (approximately $450 per residential customer) since 2020, despite significant market fluctuations.

Natick customers can opt out of the Natick Electricity Aggregation Program and switch to Basic Service or a competitive supplier at any time, with no penalty. Customers who opt out are not guaranteed the program price if they return. To change your enrollment: visit natickma.gov/electricity, email electricity@natickma.org or call 1-844-483-5004.
