Update: Natick Solar Open House

As part of the residential solar energy campaign in Natick, there will be two open house tours this week of solar customers to help residents learn more about renewable energy in their homes.

The Natick Home Energy Initiative and Next Step Living will be hosting an open house tonight at 6:30 p.m. to give local residents an opportunity to learn more about solar energy in their homes.

The home they will be showing tonight is located at 19 Lacosta Dr., and pre-registration is required as the event is limited to 15 people.

For about a year, the Natick Home Energy Initiative has set a goal of providing home energy assessments for 630 homes. That's equivalent to roughly 5 percent of eligible homes in town. To date, 381 assessments have been completed.

Next Step Living states that those who also did follow-up insulation and air sealing saved an average of $206 in energy costs per year.

There is also an open house at 19 Lacosta Dr. on Thursday night. Registration is open for that event now as well.
