Natick Student Semi-Finalist In Video Challenge
The Breakthrough Prize founders include Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Sergi Brin (Google) and others

NATICK, MA—One of Natick’s own, Matthew Walak (Natick High School ’18), was recently selected as a semifinalist in the Breakthrough Junior Challenge. After several rounds of judging his video is 1 of 29 videos worldwide being considered for a $250K scholarship, $100K for a STEM lab for Natick High School and $50K for NHS teacher.
This is the 2nd year in a row that Walak has gotten this far.
The video with the most likes, comments and shares gets to move directly to the final round.

The Breakthrough Prize founders include Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Sergi Brin (Google) and others. National Geographic and Khan Academy are some of the supporters.
Walak and friends last year broke the Stick Bomb World Record at the Natick High School, and he got his third Guinness World Record. Walak has lived in Natick all his life and is a product of the Natick Public Schools: Lilja Elementary, Wilson MS, Natick HS.
