New Cider Brewed in Natick: 'Whole Lot of New England in a Glass'
The newest concoction from Lookout Farm in Natick launched this week.

Natick, MA - The inventors of the new Barn Warmer hard cider like to call their newest concoction, “A whole lot of New England in a glass.”
Barn Warmer is the newest festive winter hard cider with a local twist, introduced at Belkin Family Lookout Farm.
Lookout Founder Jay Mofenson said he’s excited about partnering with local companies Taza Chocolate in Somerville and DRINKmaple in Concord to create the new blend.

“Our select cider apples are blended with Taza Chocolate roasted cacao nibs and DRINKmaple water,” said Mofenson. “With just a touch of Vermont maple syrup, we like to think of it as a whole lot of New England in a glass.”
Mofenson said Lookout’s Cidermaster Aaron Mateychuk is always thinking about complementary flavor profiles and combinations.

“We always look to what we are growing at Lookout Farm for inspiration,” said Mofenson. “We work and re-work the different concepts and the cider ultimately tells us when it’s ready.”
Barn Warmer was created to complement the holiday season, specifically, with the coca nibs giving the cider at “robust mouthfeel and the residual sweetness of the maple syrup ensures balance.”
“Cocoa and maple syrup are great winter ingredients because they remind us of warmth, “ said Mofenson. “In fact, I like to drink Barn Warmer warm out of a mug when relaxing by the fireplace.”
Lookout Farm is releasing Barn Warmer on Thursday, Dec. 10, with an event from 5-8 p.m.
Barn Warmer is a limited edition and will only be made available for purchase at the Lookout Taproom.
