New England Revolution Start Recognition Of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month In Natick

The team will honor the national month throughout September, including during an upcoming match. Here's what to know.

NATICK, MA — A movie night in Natick will see New England soccer stars and children and families affected by cancer meet up for a special night.

The New England Revolution Foundation and Revolution players will host families from nearby hospitals who have been affected by childhood cancer for the club's annual "Box Car Movie Night" at Jordan’s Furniture in Natick on Wednesday.

Revolution players will be in attendance to craft custom cardboard box cars with the pediatric cancer patients, as well as cardboard swords and shields to accompany their screening of the newly released movie "How to Train Your Dragon" in Jordan's IMAX theater.

“Box Car Movie Night” is one of several ways the New England Revolution Foundation will recognize National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, officials said.

The Revolution will host their Fight Childhood Cancer match at Gillette Stadium on Sept. 13 vs. Toronto FC. Throughout the match at Gillette Stadium, the Revolution will show their support for patients and families affected by childhood cancer with activations recognizing local cancer fighters, community partners, non-profit organizations and hospitals, officials said.
