New Year's Eve Celebration On The Cochituate Rail Trail Returns

The rail trail turns into a hub for a cozy celebration complete with fire pits, food and entertainment.

NATICK, MA — The Cochituate Rail Trail is typically used for movement: Biking, jogging or walking. On New Year's Eve, however, the Friends of Natick Trails invite you to slow it down a bit on the trail.

A New Year's Eve celebration is again scheduled on a portion of the trail on Dec. 31, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

As was the case last year, fire pits will be set up between miles 1.2 and 2.2, or from Bacon Street to Chrysler Road.

The hosts of the fire pits will be providing food and drinks — though this is an alcohol-free event — and there will be entertainment on the trail as well.

Though parking is available at the Mechanic Street lot off North Main Street, the organization is encouraging people who plan to attend to walk to the event — or at the very least not park on Bacon Street.
