Officers Arrest Motorcycle Driver Traveling 130 MPH

State police arrested a motorcycle driver Sunday night who was traveling down Route 126 at speeds in excess of 130 miles per hour, according to an unconfirmed scanner report. 

The driver "dumped" his motorcycle at the Route 27 Stop and Shop and fled on foot after traveling down Rte. 9 at speeds estimated at more than 90 miles per hour. Police stopped the suspect soon after the incident, which happened at about 8 p.m.

"Numerous troopers observed him as he passed them at high speeds, then he stopped at Route 27, dumped his bike and attempted to flee on foot," the report said. 

There was "not much left of the bike," when it was abandoned, the report said.
