Softball Tournament to Help Natick Fight Cancer

A one-pitch softball tournament on Aug. 24 will benefit those fighting cancer.

A one-pitch softball tournament will raise funds for Natick residents currently battling cancer on Aug. 24.

A $300 fee per team, or $25 fee for individual players, will benefit Natick's Embrace a Family, a group which aims to offset costs for those undergoing cancer treatment.

Natick's Rotary Club is looking for teams to sign up for the charity tournament. Groups of 12 to 15 players are welcome, with at least three women on the team. Players must be at least 18 years old.

Other offerings at the event include hamburgers and hot dogs, face painting, temporary tattoos and 50/50 raffles. The event begins at 5:30 p.m.

In contrast to traditional softball, the one-pitch style allows only one strike per batter.
