Solar Discussion Hopes to Decrease Residents' Energy Costs
An event hosted by Next Step Living will bring Natick residents information on how to bring solar to their homes.

An educational event on Thursday, Aug. 9, at Morse Tavern hopes to bring information to residents interested in lowering their electric bills by installing solar systems on their property.
The event starts at 6 p.m.

"Only 10-15 percent of Natick residents will qualify, but if they do they will have the potential of getting solar which saves them money on their electric bills and green energy on their roof for little to no money down," Michael Cucchiara, Community Programs Manager at Next Step Living said in an email.Â
The organization also hopes to bring Natick residents increased energy efficiency by assessing home electricity systems.Â

"Our goal is to provide the residents with the same options for energy efficiency savings through weatherization and solar as the Town receives through its municipal contracts," Cuccaria said.Â
Next Step Living has done 4 solar installations and 200 energy assessments in Natick. They hope to complete 600 assessments by the year's end.Â
