Suspects Sought after Kay Pee Robbery

The suspects apparently fled in a green mini-van.

A still-undetermined amount of jewelry was stolen this afternoon during a robbery at Kay Pee Jewelers at 251 West Central St., Natick Police Lt. Brian Grassey said.

The incident happened at about 5:39 p.m. when several males and females entered the store with at least one infant.

One of the individuals used a "classic diversion'' technique to distract the employee while a woman went to the safe at the rear of the store and stole the jewelry, Grassey said.

No weapons were displayed and no one was injured.

The suspects fled in a green mini-van. The license plate was white with dark lettering and was not from Massachusetts, Grassey said.

The witnesses said the plate could have been from California, but that is not definite.

The first number of the license plate was "6.''

An older, four-door sedan may also have been involved, Grassey said.

The suspects were described in the original scanner report as appearing to be Middle-eastern.

The suspects were believed to be headed west toward Framingham.

If anyone has any information on the incident, they should call Natick Police Detective Division at (508) 647-9520.
