Swastika Graffiti Found On Natick Bike Trail

The graffiti was reported to town officials on Monday morning and immediately removed, they said.

NATICK, MA — The Natick Select Board is reporting that antisemitic symbols were found on the Cochituate Rail Trail this week.

Swastika graffiti was spotted on the trail around 8 a.m. on Monday. Officials said the Department of Public Works immediately removed them.

"We, as a community, are deeply saddened by this act of hate," Select Board officials said, in a letter.

"The Natick community draws its strength from our many passionate residents, our committed volunteers, and the many community-based organizations that serve Natick," they said. "Our Jewish community, in Natick, has faced a series of hateful attacks in recent years and our local Jewish neighbors deserve our care and support."

Officials said they've committed to working with local Jewish leaders in the weeks to come, stating that they want to "discuss how to best address the rise in antisemic activity."
