TCAN Hosts 'Masters Of The Telecaster' Concert

The rock guitarists G.E. Smith and Jim Weider head to Natick where they'll play music from Roy Buchanan, Neil Young, Sam Cooke and more.

NATICK, MA — The Fender Telecaster has a special play in music history as one of the most famous guitars in the world.

In Natick, two men deemed "Masters of the Telecaster" will take the stage to play tunes from Roy Buchanan, Little Richard, Neil Young, Jimmy Reed, Steve Winwood, Sam Cooke and others.

Jim Weider has a signature blend of rock and blues that has come to define his guitar playing. It has garnered him the distinction of being one of the few musicians with an endorsement from Fender.

Weider served for 15 years as the lead guitarist for The Band, touring internationally from 1985 to 2000 with original members Levon Helm, Garth Hudson and Rick Danko.

G.E. Smith will also take the stage in Natick this weekend. Smith was the music director and leader of the Saturday Night Live band for 10 years, and has also toured with Bob Dylan and Hall & Oates.

The duo will take the stage on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $36, but a limited number are still available.
