TCAN Screening 'Poor Things' Through The Weekend
The Oscar contender received 11 nominations this year, including for best picture. Here's when to see it in Natick.
NATICK, MA — The Center for Arts Natick is continuing to host screenings of 2024 Oscar contender "Poor Things", starring Emma Stone.
As explained by TCAN, the movie shares the "evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation."
The film, which was made by Yorgos Lanthimos and produced by Stone, received 11 Oscar nominations in 2024, including best picture, best director (Lanthimos), best actress (Stone), best supporting actor (Ruffalo), adapted screenplay, production design, costume design, cinematography, editing, makeup and hairstyling and original score.
