Town of Natick Looking for Marathon Runners for Non-profits

Natick has chosen four different non-profits to receive funding from this year's Boston Marathon.

The Town of Natick is looking for runners for this year's Boston Marathon to raise money for four different non-profits, according to the town's website.

According to the website, "It is the Town’s intent to utilize the funds raised by Natick’s Boston Marathon runners to support local projects, programs and services to benefit Natick residents."

  • Justin Bailey Memorial Scholarship- Bailey was a senior at Natick High School last year when he died suddenly. The Natick High School Hockey Alliance has established a scholarship in Justin’s memory, to be awarded annually to student athletes who exemplify the team principles of loyalty, dedication, and selflessness, and who have a strong commitment to family, friends, and community, in support of their advancement to higher learning.
  • Natick Service Council- For 50 years, NSC has served Natick's most vulnerable and economically disadvantaged residents as a center for advocacy, referral, casemanagement, information and job skills training.
  • Embrace a Family- Embrace A Family (EAF) is a committee of the Rotary Club of Natick which strives to help individuals and families in Natick who are battling cancer. Funds raised will go to non-medical expenses for Natick residents.
  • Natick Education Foundation- The NEF raises money that is turned back to the Natick public schools each year through grant programs, professional development funding and high school scholarships. Funds raised by Natick marathon runners would be used to support the grant programs with particular emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math.

Runners have until May 31 to raise a minimum of $4,000.
