Veteran Natick Firefighter Retires After Nearly 30 Years

Michael Quilty held numerous roles, passing down knowledge and expertise to generations of local firefighters.

NATICK, MA — The Natick Fire Department recently said goodbye to a veteran member of the force, officials announced.

Firefighter Michael Quilty has been with the department since July 7, 1993. He completed his final shift on Jan. 30.

Quilty grew up and Natick and continues to reside in town, officials said. With the department, he was a versatile firefighter, serving on Ladder 1, Engines 1 and 4 and as a member of the dive and technical rescue teams.

Quilty was also an EMT who was active in community CPR programs. He fundraised on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association during his time with the department.

In addition to his work with the department, he also served as the Vice President of Local 1707.

"FF Quilty has been a great 'Senior Man' in passing his knowledge and love of the fire service to those he worked with," the department said in a statement.

"We will miss all that he brings to the fire service and wish him a very long, happy, and healthy retirement."
