Altercation, Teen Charged In Crash: Needham Police Log

July 16
7:22 p.m. - An officer responded to a Cabot Street business for a report of an employee altercation. One of the parties agreed to go home for the evening. Neither party wished to press charges.
July 17

3:00 p.m. - An officer took a report of a stolen check. Upon investigation it appeared that the check had been cashed and the victim's name was forged.
11:50 p.m. - Officers responded to the Sheraton Hotel on Cabot Street for a report of a suspicious male. The incident is under investigation.

July 18
1:11 a.m. - An officer was informed from a passerby that there was a vehicle parked at the end of Nehoiden Street at the intersection of Central Avenue that that was running however no lights were on and it was just sitting there. Upon responding to the area and after subsequent investigation, 26-year-old Shelby McDonald of Needham was placed under arrest and charged operating under the Influence of liquor.
2:00 p.m. - An officer attempted to make a traffic stop in the area of Hunnewell Street. The vehicle did not stop and attempted to flee the area on Taylor Street toward Hunnewell Street, where it collided with another vehicle. The operator of the suspect vehicle and the two occupants of the other vehicle were treated for their injuries and transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center - Needham with non-life threatening injuries. Further investigation off the contents of the suspect vehicle revealed marijuana and cash. A 17-year-old Newton boy was charged with a plate sticker violation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, and possession of a Class D drugs with intent to distribute.
