Roche Bros. Needham Store awarded Most Improved in Fundraising Efforts for "Go Green For Children's Program"

Today Roche Bros. presented a check to Boston Children’s Hospital as its “Go Green for Children’s Program” celebrates five years.  Each year, since 2008, Roche Bros. has given a five-cent rebate every time shoppers use their recyclable grocery bag.  While many retailers allow shoppers to pocket the rebate, Roche Bros. gives its customers another, more charitable option: donate it to Boston Children’s Hospital.

Those nickels add up quickly across Roche Bros. 18-store supermarket chain. This year’s check from the Roche Bros. Go Green for Children’s program is for $50,430.10. That’s over 1 million nickels! Together with the NSTAR Walk for Children’s sponsorship and cookbook program partnership with Children’s, the Roche Bros. community efforts have raised nearly $300,000 for Boston Children’s Hospital.

The Roche Bros. Millis store came in as the top fundraiser of all store locations this year, with local shoppers generously donating close to $7,000. The Needham store was also awarded “Most Improved” from last year with a 71% increase in their donations.
