Bus Crash, Flat Tires, And More: Needham Police Log

April 30

5:38 p.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on West Street by Highland Avenue after the vehicle had traveled the wrong way on Mark Lee Road. The operator reported that the vehicle had no insurance and dispatch confirmed that it was revoked for insurance. The operator a 33-year-old Newton man, was issued a summons for operating with revoked registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and a one-way street violation.

May 1

A resident of Chambers Street reported that the tires on his bicycles had been flattened. The matter is being investigated

A resident of Gould Street reported her diamond ring was missing. The matter is being investigated.

2:47 p.m. - An officer was traveling west on Great Plain Avenue observed a vehicle proceed through the steady red light from Webster Street and take a right heading west on Great Plain Avenue. The motor vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Great Plain and Dedham avenue. After subsequent investigation, 24-year-old Anthony Ramirez of Fall River man was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and cited for a red light violation.

A Stewart Road resident came to the police station to report that his name and social security number had been used to open a false Comcast account in Philadelphia. The resident has reported the matter to Comcast and any fraudulent charges will be expunged.

10:50 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to the area of Great Plain Avenue and Powder House Circle for a two-car crash. The crash occurred on Great Plain Avenue and the driver of one of the vehicles involved did not possess a license. The operator, a 60-year-old Framingham, was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle without a license.

May 2

3:00 p.m. - An officer responded a property damage crash in a parking lot on Chestnut Street. The crash involved a Town of Needham vehicle. A bus backed into a parked town vehicle causing minor damage to both. The town vehicle was unoccupied. The vehicles and damage were photographed and a crash report was completed.
