Drug Possession, Stolen Scrap Metal: Needham Police Log

May 10

7:20 a.m. - An officer responded to the area of Greendale Avenue and Nevada Street for a report of a two-car crash. As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old Everett man was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop.

8:00 a.m. - An officer responded to the area of 2nd and Highland avenue for a report of a single-vehicle crash. The vehicle that had struck a pole was partially off the roadway. As a result of the investigation into the crash, 20-year-old Nicholas Daniels of Norwell was placed under arrest for possession of Class A substance, operating to endanger, and marked lanes violation.

2:05 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for no inspection sticker. The operator, an 18-year-old Lawrence man, was issued a summons for attaching plates and operating without insurance.

A Grant Street resident reported that his vehicle had been hit while it was parked at a Chestnut Street business. There were no witnesses.

10:45 p.m. - An officer responded to Sunrise Terrace for a report of attempted theft of a down spout. The incident is under investigation.

April 11

8:30 a.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Valley Road residence for a report of scrap metal stolen from the property.

9:50 a.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle for an inspection sticker violation. The operator, a 38-year-old Boston man was issued a summons for operating with a suspended license.

12:30 p.m. - An officer observed a vehicle on Highland Avenue and stopped it. The owner, a 45-year-old Quincy man, was issued a summons for operating after revocation.
