Injured Deer, Motorcycle Hit-And-Run: Needham Police Log

May 28

An officer was dispatched to a Tudor Road residence for report of an injured deer. After confirming the deer was injured, it was safely dispatched.

6:10 p.m. - An officer attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Chestnut Street. The operator failed to stop and was pursued into Dedham where he was arrested. A 16 year-old juvenile from Dedham was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating to endanger, and failure to stop for a police officer.

May 29

12:00 p.m. - An officer took a walk-in report from a Canterbury Lane resident regarding a larceny of bank information. The victim reported a new bank account was opened in his name. Several thousand dollars was moved from one account to another and used at four retail stores in Houston, Texas. The matter is under investigation.

12:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Central Avenue address for a report of vandalism to the property. An employee of the property reported a door had been kicked and damaged. The matter is under investigation

2:15 p.m. - An officer responded to a Charles Street business for report of a motor vehicle hit and run incident. The vehicle struck a parked car on Charles Street. Witnesses observed the accident and provided a description of the vehicle. The incident is still under investigation.

5:30 p.m. - An officer responded to a 2nd Avenue business for the report of individuals drinking and smoking in the parking complex. Upon arrival, the officer encountered the individuals in question. After a brief investigation two 22-year-old Needham men were issued bylaw citations for consumption of marijuana in public.

An officer responded to a motor vehicle hit-and-run crash on Great Plain Avenue. The victims car was struck by a motorcycle attempting to pass her on the left. The motorcycle then fled the scene at a high rate of speed. An area search for the motorcycle was conducted by multiple units with negative results. The incident is under investigation.
