Motorcycle Crash, Fake Cash: Needham Police Log

August 13
9:00 a.m. - Officer stopped a motor vehicle on 2nd Avenue. The registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. The operator, a 43-year-old man from Everett, was issued a summons for operating with a suspended license.
3:30 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to an address on Franklin Street for a report that counterfeit $20 had been passed. The bill was confiscated and the matter is under investigation.

August 14
11:30 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle Riverside Street. The operator, a 49-year-old Dorchester man was issued a summons and cited for operating with a suspended registration and operating an uninsured vehicle.

12:00 p.m. - An officer responded to an Evelyn Road address for a fraud call. This was related to the relative in jail and needs money sent Western Union scam. The incident is under investigation.
August 15
6:05 a.m. - Officers responded to a motorcycle crash in the area of 1541 Great Plain Ave. The reporting party said that the operator was injured. Needham Fire arrived and began treating the operator. Witnesses reported that the motorcycle was traveling west on Great Plain Avenue when it started wobbling. The operator appeared to put his foot out for balance before hitting the curb on the right side of the road and rolling over onto its side. Needham Fire transported the operator to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston for treatment.
5:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to Webster Street near Needham High School for report of nails in the roadway. There were nails in the roadway of this area. Needham DPW cleared the road and the incident is under investigation.
11:45 p.m. - An officer was flagged down at the Needham Police Department parking lot by a concerned citizen. The citizen stated she observed a man passed out on the lawn of a home at Warren and Kimball streets. Officers responded and took a 22-year-old Needham man into protective custody.
