Mystery Drone, Drug Possession: Needham Police Log

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

June 1

6:10 a.m. - An officer responded to the area of Hunting Road for a report of a suspicious man. Following a brief investigation, 24-year-old Brandon Swanson of Manchester, New Hampshire was arrested for possession of Class A and C substances and possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute.

6:45 a.m. - An officer responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of Highland Avenue and West Street. A man from Lynn was operating a motor vehicle without a license to operate. The man was issued a summons for unlicensed operation and a stop light violation. No injuries reported on scene.

An employee of a Gould Street business reported that someone had hacked into their bank account and stolen some money. TD Bank was notified and they will investigate.

A student at Needham High reported that another student had hit her motor vehicle with the car he was driving and left the scene. Both students were contacted and were able to exchange information.

7:00 p.m.. - An officer observed a motor vehicle in traffic making a scraping sound on Dedham Avenue. At this time, a traffic stop was made and after subsequent investigation, a 29-year-old Needham man was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and cited for operating a motor vehicle with failed safety standards.

June 4

10:30 a.m. - An officer responded to a Kendrick Street business on a reported stolen license plate. Sometime between June 1 and 4, someone had stolen a license plate from a motorcycle parked in the garage. The reporting party also stated that a few buckles from the saddle bags were stolen.

12:30 pm - An officer took a walk in report from a Dedham resident regarding a stolen license plate taken off of his brother's car at a Kendrick Street business.

3:30 p.m. - An officer took a walk in report of larceny. An Ingleside Road resident reported that an unknown party opened a cell phone account through Sprint in her name. The account has now gone into collections. The victim has reported the incident to Sprint. The matter is under investigation.

June 5

9:45 a.m. - An officer responded to a Highland Avenue financial institution for a report of larceny. The victim, an Ingleside Road resident, reported a large amount of money had been stolen from a bank account that he shares with his brother in Denmark. The matter is under investigation.

11:00 a.m. - An officer responded to an A Street business for a report of a drone above the area. The drone was gone on arrival and it was noted in a report.
