The Needham Board Of Selectmen Is Now A Select Board
Town Meeting approved the gender-neutral name change.

NEEDHAM, MA — The Board of selectmen is officially a name that's out of style in Needham following Town Meeting Wednesday.
Town Meeting representatives approved the board's name change to select board, making Needham the latest community to switch the name of their top elected board to a gender-neutral name.
The change to a gender-neutral board name and titles was backed by the then-named selectmen in March. The change was proposed by board Chairperson Marianne Cooley, who said it was imperative that Needham joins the other 40 communities who have done the same.
