Needham Boy Struck By Car

The driver was cited for a crosswalk violation and failure to obey traffic signs and faces a criminal charge of negligent operation.

NEEDHAM, MA — An 11-year-old boy was struck outside by a car outside Broadmeadow Elementary School Tuesday afternoon.

Sgt. Richard Forbes told the Needham Times that a crossing guard was letting the child cross Grosvenor Road across Greendale Avenue when a person drove a vehicle through the guard's stop sign and struck the kid.

The driver was cited for a crosswalk violation and failure to obey traffic signs, and faces a criminal charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, police said.
