They scored two goals within the game's first eight minutes. Needham's superb defense held their opponent to just one goal, which came in the game's final minutes.In victory, Needham closed out an undefeated season and earned their first state championship since 1984. They posted a 22-0-2 record. They defeated Weymouth, Mansfield, Bishop Feehan, and Whitman-Hanson while on the way to the championship win.Needham made it a goal to win a state championship prior to the season's start.
