Needham Police Log: Big Charges, Family Friends and More

• 10 a.m., police respond to a Sachem Road address where a man was injured by a chainsaw to the leg. He was working as an employee of a tree company contracted to work at the home. The man went to Beth Israel Needham, and OSHA was contacted about the incident.
• Police were dispatched to St Mary's Street, where a driver reported being involved in a hit-and-run crash at the Walgreens parking lot before 11:15 a.m. The vehicle owner told police that he came out of the store, the brake light on the passenger side had been broken. The other driver did not leave a note.
• A driver seen speeding on Great Plain Avenue at about 4:45 p.m. was stopped, by police, and the 36-year-old Framingham resident at the wheel will be summonsed for unlicensed driving and speeding. 
• A Hunnewell Street woman told police that a suspicious man had come to her house and was asking for two girls who knew his mother. He was described as a white or hispanic man in his 50s or 60s, black hair and about 6-feet tall. He was in a red leather jacket, and had a black Ford F-150. After speaking with the man for a few minutes, the woman became suspicious of the man, and he left without incident. 

• Past larceny reported at Muzi Chevrolet between Wednesday and Thursday of the previous week. A dealer plate was taken, and police are investigating. 
• A Greendale Ave resident reported at police HQ around 1:30 p.m. that his ATM card had been used fraudulently for a $9800 charge . 
• A Standish Road resident came in to report that $1000 had been withdrawn using his ATM card from machines in Grafton and West Roxbury. When he reported at about 2 p.m., he had notified his financial institution and canceled the card. 

• 4 p.m., police and fire respond to Country Way where a construction worker's leg was caught in a piece of machinery. His injuries appeared minor, but he was taken to Beth Israel Needham for evaluation. 

• At about 6:30 p.m., police sent to a dispute reported at a Chestnut Street address, over a payment. The people involved told officers that it was a civil matter, and both had attorneys already involved. One party was formally given a No Trespass order and told to stay away from the property.
