Needham Police Log: (Small) Bus Crash and More
The following reports were provided by the Needham Police Department. Charges where mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, June 7
- 8:30 a.m., police received a report of a school bus crash on Lasalle Road at Webster Street. When officers arrived, they determined it was a minor incident with no injuries. The driver of the bus was cited for following too close, and a replacement bus arrived on the scene and took students to classes.
- Property damage incident reported at Great Plain Avenue and Dedham Avenue, at about 12:15 p.m. Police learned that the driver of one of the vehicles involved had a suspended license, and a 23-year-old woman from North Dakota was summonsed to court for operating with a suspended license and a marked lanes violation.
- 5:30 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle property damage crash on First Avenue. The driver told police that his car started to hydroplane, he left the roadway, and hit a fence. The driver was uninjured, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
- Police brought a juvenile into protective custody after receiving a report, after 10 p.m., that kids were playing on the tracks at the Needham Heights commuter rail stop. When police arried, they saw a young woman who appeared mildly intoxicated walking along the tracks. She was brought into protective custody, then released to her father's custody.
- Crash near the 200 block of Central Avenue, reported 11:15 p.m. The driver said that his left front tire blew out, and he lost control of the car. The vehicle went down the boat launch to Charles River, and was partially submerged. Needham Collision managed to pull the vehicle out of the river.
Saturday, June 8
- Police received a report of a cab fare evasion at about 1:45 a.m. Police took the party involved to an ATM to withdraw the cab fare, and report that everyone was satisfied.
- At about 9:30 a.m., police responded to an injured animal on Greendale Avenue at Brookline Street. A deer reportedly ran into the road and hit the side of a car. The car took minor damage, and animal was put down.
- A Marked Tree Road resident reported that sometime overnight, someone egged their car, 9:45 a.m.
