Needham Police Warn Residents After String of Car Break-Ins
In some cases, thieves are smashing windows to obtain high-priced items.

Police in Needham are warning town residents as they investigate a string of car break-ins. Each incident was reported within the last week. High-priced items were stolen in each incident.
Police are urging residents to secure their vehicles and to remove all items of any value.

At approximately 11:00 a.m., a 61-year-old Central Ave. resident reported that a watch had been stolen from her vehicle that was parked on Chestnut St. on 11/20/15. There are no suspects at this time.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., an officer responded to the parking lot of a Highland Circle business for a report of a past break-and-enter into a motor vehicle. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a window in the vehicle had been smashed and a laptop and laptop bag were stolen from the vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., an officer responded to the parking lot of a Highland Circle business for a report of past break and entering into multiple motor vehicles. Upon investigation, it was determined that a laptop and other personal items had been stolen from a vehicle after the window of the vehicle had been smashed. At the time of this report, this matter is still under investigation.

- Do not leave valuable items in your vehicle to the extent possible.
- Try to keep items from view if there is no other option
- Be careful about gifts left in your vehicle during the upcoming holiday shopping season
- Park in well lighted areas
