Needham Resident Featured at WGBH Boston FIRST LOOK Screening

Doug Most of Needham was featured at a premier screening of the documentary, "The Race Underground."

BOSTON, MA –Needham resident, Doug Most, was featured last week at a WGBH Boston FIRST LOOK premiere screening of the upcoming public television documentary, “The Race Underground.”

The film, produced by WGBH’s American Experience history series for PBS, is based on Most’s 2014 book, “The Race Underground: Boston, New York, and the Incredible Rivalry That Built America’s First Subway.”

The film tells the dramatic story of how Boston overcame the engineering challenges, politics, and public fears of citizens in the 19th century to build America’s first subway.

Following the screening at WGBH’s studios, Most participated in a panel discussion about the film with the producer and director, Michael Rossi, and with American Experience senior producer, Susan Bellows. The panel and audience discussion was moderated by WGBH 89.7 All Things Considered anchor Barbara Howard.

“The Race Underground” will premiere on WGBH and on PBS stations nationwide in early 2017.
