Road Rage, Vehicle Break-In: Needham Police Log

The following is from the Needham Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

May 21

3:30 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Hunnewell Street. Upon further investigation, the operator did not have a valid driver's license. The operator, a 20-year-old Waltham man, was issued a citation for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding. The vehicle was towed.

4:20 p.m. - An officer observed a vehicle operating in the area of School and Chestnut streets with revoked registration and a broken headlight, and initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. As a result of the stop the vehicle was towed and the operator, who was not the vehicles registered owner, was issued a written warning for an equipment violation.

An officer responded to a Rosemary Street address for a past road rage incident. Both parties involved were identified and the victim was advised of his right to seek criminal charges at Dedham District Court for a past assault.

May 22

1:40 a.m. - An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Highland Avenue for having a license plate that did not illuminate. The operator did not have a valid driver's license. The driver, a 19-year-old Needham resident, was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, license plate violation and impeded operation.

May 23

12:40 p.m. - An officer took a walk-in report of a past incident of fraud. The reporting party stated that he was contacted by phone from someone claiming to be Microsoft and was defrauded of money. The matter is under investigation.

2:40 p.m. - An officer took a walk in report of an incident of fraud. The reporting party contacted a fraudulent Apple tech support company. The matter is under investigation.


May 24

2:35 p.m. - An officer was flagged down by the mother of a child who had become entangled in a school bus seat belt. The child was cut free without injury.

6:00 p.m. - Officers responded to a Highland Avenue business for a report of a breaking and entering into a vehicle. The matter is under investigation.
