Volante Farms is Needham's Green Business of the Year
Local farm stand to be named top green business at a Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce breakfast June 26.
It may or may not be easy being green, but there's one business in town we can ask about it.
The Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce recently announced its pick for the 2013 Green Business of the year, and it is Volante Farms. to sustainability--shown in part in its recent renovation.

On June 26, the business will pick up its award from the Chamber at a breakfast at the Newton Mariott hotel. Keynote speaker will be Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley, and they will have guest speakers including Bob Zimmerman of Charles River Watershed Association and Needham Board of Selectman Chairman Dan Matthews.
“We see the Green Business Awards Breakfast as an opportunity to recognize businesses in Needham and Newton for their outstanding achievements but also as a chance to bring together local businesses, energy and environmental experts and policy makers to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to preserving and protecting our environment,” .

M.C. Matt Noyes, New England Cable News meteorologist, will oversee the proceedings, including two other awards to go to North Hill senior living community, and Kingsbury Homes Limited, both getting green initiative awards.
