Constituent hours, films for kids, summer reading and more.

1. Welcome back! City, state and national offices reopen today after the July 4 holiday, though some businesses will remain closed.
2. Alderman Stephen Linsky will hold his monthly constituent hours Friday from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. at the Newton Senior Center.
3. The Newton Free Library will offer "Picture Books on Film" for children from 10:30 a.m. -11 a.m. today.
4. Speaking of the library, summer reading programs for kids and teens are underway. Check out the details on the Newton Free Library website.
5. This Weekend is Newton Community Weekend at the Jackson Homestead and Museum. Newton residents can tour the museum for free on Saturday and Sunday.
