1. The 117th Boston Marathon! Here are 10 things you need to know for Marathon Monday in Newton.

2. Patriots' Day. Not only is it Marathon Monday, it's also Patriots' Day. Newton City Hall and the Newton Free Library will be closed today. Most banks and stores will be open today as well as post offices.

3. Trash/recycling pick-up...will be delayed one day this week due to the Patriots' Day holiday.

4. April vacation. Students in the Newton Public Schools start their April vacation this week and will be off until next Monday, April 22. Make sure to check our events calendar for vacation program ideas.
