Newton's Gracie Gold Wins National Championship Again
Gracie, who was born in Newton, is now guaranteed a place at 2016 world championships.
SAINT PAUL, MN - Figure skater Gracie Gold landed seven triples in her Firebird-themed free skate to win the U.S. Nationals figure skating title Saturday night, Jan. 24.
Gold, who was born in Newton, is now guaranteed a place at world championships, which will be held in Boston in 2016 at TD Garden. Team will be announced in February. Championships are March 28 to April 3.

Two years ago, in preparation for the U.S. Nationals in Boston, Gold practiced her routine at Loring Arena in Framingham.
Gold, under legendary head coach Frank Carroll, won the U.S. Nationals in Boston, and then went to the Olympics.
