Red Sox fans hoping for Jon Lester’s return to Boston received discouraging news Tuesday.
The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo reported Lester put his Newton home up for sale.
Lester, who led the Red Sox to two World Series titles, was traded to the Oakland Athletics earlier this season. The Red Sox missed the playoffs, while the A’s clinched a wild card berth and will play Kansas City tonight. Lester will pitch.
