Large Development Possibly Coming Near Newton Train Station
Mark Development has been working with the Lower Fall Improvement Association for multiple years on this project.

NEWTON, MA — A developer is proposing the construction of a 750-unit mixed-use group of properties slated to be adjacent to the MBTA Green Line Riverside station.
The building would be in the parking lot next to the station, which was once the site of the Indigo Hotel until it closed in 2021.
Mark Development is set to present the potential project to the City Council at a public hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 16. The structures’ designs include the construction of six buildings, two parking garages with a combined more than 1,000 spaces and 780 bicycle spaces. The whole development will have approximately 20,000 square feet of ground floor commercial retail space and community playground. The total development square footage is 890,000 square feet, not including the parking garage.
