Marathon experience: This is my first marathon! I’ve grown up watching the Boston Marathon and running with the Newton North track team along Comm. Ave., and now it’s my time to run on my home turf!

Reason for running: I’m running in memory of my Uncle Ed, who died of Leukemia when he was 39 years old. I’m also running in honor of my patient partner, Mary Kate, who at 11 years old is a cancer survivor! They give me the strength and inspiration to keep running and raising funds towards the ultimate goal of a world without cancer.

Training tip: Step one to training is getting out the door, and that’s much easier if you’re running with a friend, a group, or even a dog!

Qualified runner or charity bib? Charity bib; I’m running to support innovative cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. For more information on Hutchinson's run, check out her fundraising page.

Bib number: 23411
