Salvatore Arico, 90, former Newton Police Officer

Salvatore Arico, 90, of Newton, died on April 13, 2013. 

A Lincoln Road resident, Arico was a 32-year veteran of the Newton Police Department. He's also a former commander of the American Legion Post 440 and past grand knight of the Grand Knights of Columbus, his obituary read.

Arico was a 1975 graduate of Boston College.

Arico is survived by two children and three grandchildren. His wife of 69 years, Phyllis, passed away in Feburary.
