NEWTON, MA — An SUV slammed into Pressed Cafe on Needham Street in Newton Monday afternoon, <a href="https://www.necn.com/news/local/suv-slams-into-pressed-cafe-in-newton/2763091/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">reported NECN</a>. The crash caused the large glass windows in the front of the restaurant to shatter, sending glass into the area where people pick their food orders, where employees work at the cash registers, and where customers eat outside, said NECN. Several chairs were used to block off the area with yellow police tape. Police have not said if anyone was injured or what caused the driver to crash into the restaurant, but customers town NECN it appeared a woman hit the gas instead of the brakes. The SUV was towed away after the incident and no further information has been released.
