UNC Coach Williams Collapses at BC

Roy Williams had an apparent dizzy spell during a game at Boston College Tuesday night.

NEWTON, MA—UNC Tar Heels Coach Roy Williams collapsed during a game against Boston College on Tuesday night in an apparent bout of dizziness.

Williams was helped off the court in the second half and is reportedly OK.

Williams fell to the ground on the sideline moments after expressing unhappiness about a call to a referee. After dropping to the ground, he covered his head with his hand and was led off the court moments later.

Williams has had dizzy spells in the past.

In 2010, Williams had a similar episode after a win against Wake Forest and later told reporters that they first happened when he was a teenager playing Babe Ruth baseball.

“It’s a little bit of a rush, things get a little black, you feel some pressure for two or three seconds, and if I don’t fall on my face, I’m going to be OK,” he said.
